FC Barcelona have decided to sell key midfielder Pedri if a good money offer arrives in the upcoming summer transfer window, reported Spanish news outlet AS on Wednesday.

Pedri was forced off with a muscle issue just before half-time during Barcelona's dull draw with Athletic Club, seemingly sustaining the injury while delivering a pass to Raphinha on the right wing.

The midfielder was diagnosed with a "quadriceps injury", and manager Xavi Hernandez acknowledged that Pedri could face an extended spell on the sidelines.

Despite being only 21 years old, Pedri has already missed 69 games due to various hamstring injuries throughout his career. This season alone, he has been sidelined for three months after picking up an injury during a training session in late August.

Given Pedri's recurring injury problems, the report from AS suggested that Barcelona are keen to find a solution to his fitness issues. While they ideally want to retain the young midfielder, the possibility of selling him in the future is not ruled out as a potential solution.

Despite his injury proneness, Pedri would undoubtedly attract interest from top clubs across Europe if he were to become available for transfer.

Previous reports from Spain have indicated that Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain have considered making bids for the dynamic midfielder. AS reported in June 2023 that PSG even made an ambitious €100m offer for Pedri, which was rejected by Barcelona.

In addition to Pedri's situation, Barcelona have been linked with several potential midfield signings ahead of the summer transfer window. Arsenal's Jorginho is reportedly "delighted" by the interest shown in him by the Catalan club.
